FAQ
The answers are grouped by topic, and each one links to the page with the full explanation.
Release and price
When does just volleyball come out?
The Steam store still says November 4, 2026. The developer's October 31 announcement says the game will most likely miss that date because Steam review has not cleared, and estimates 10-15 more days. That points to November 10-15. See the release date tracker.
Is the release date confirmed?
No. There is no new locked date. The store field is old metadata; the announcement is newer but gives a range.
How much does it cost?
The intended base price is $7.99. A 38% launch discount would make it about $4.95 in the US. The store page has no live price yet. Details are on the price page.
Can I pre-order?
No. There is no pre-order or pre-purchase button.
Is the launch discount confirmed?
The 38% figure comes from a developer message quoted on the Steam forum. It is not yet a store promotion.
Demo and playtest
Is the demo still available?
No. The Next Fest demo ran from October 19 to October 29 and has been delisted. The store page no longer has a demo button.
Does demo progress carry over?
The developer says levels and saves carry over, but some profile stats will not. Keep the demo install and save files intact if you want to test it.
Is the playtest the same as the demo?
No. The playtest was a separate free app that opened in September. The demo was the October Next Fest build. See the playtest page.
Can I still play the playtest?
The app may still be listed, but the test is over. There are no active servers or new builds.
Will there be another demo?
Nothing has been announced. Assume the next downloadable build is the paid game.
Platforms and crossplay
What platforms is just volleyball on?
PC via Steam, Windows only. The store page lists no Mac, Linux, PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch version.
Does just volleyball have crossplay?
There is no console version, so there is no console crossplay. PC players can play together through Steam, and Remote Play Together can stream a local session to a friend. The crossplay page explains the details.
Does it work on Steam Deck?
It is not officially rated. ProtonDB has one provisional platinum report, which is not enough to call it verified. The Steam Deck page covers the caveats.
Is there controller support?
The store metadata does not list Xbox or PlayStation controller support, and the game is designed around mouse aiming. A journalist played the demo with a controller, so a path exists, but keyboard and mouse is the safe default.
Does it support Mac or Linux?
No native versions. Linux users can try Proton, but there is no official support.
Multiplayer and modes
How many players per match?
Modes run from 1v1 to 6v6. The full game supports online, LAN, and local split-screen play.
Is there split-screen?
Yes, shared/split-screen is listed on the store page for both PvP and co-op. The demo's local setup screen showed four slots; a higher cap has not been confirmed.
Does it have LAN?
Yes. LAN PvP and LAN co-op are both listed.
Can I play with bots?
Yes. The store description mentions bots, and offline play is supported.
Is there matchmaking or a server browser?
Community posts refer to a server browser. Ranked matchmaking has not been announced. The multiplayer guide covers what is known.
How many courts are there?
Seven at launch, according to the developer's quoted feature list. Courts appear to be cosmetic venue choices rather than stat modifiers.
Are there achievements?
Yes, more than fifty are planned at launch.
Is there a career mode?
A career tab is planned. It is not a full franchise mode; think progression and records rather than transfers and contracts.
Technical
What are the system requirements?
Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i5-7600 or equivalent, 8 GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 630 or equivalent with OpenGL 3.3, broadband, 500 MB. Recommended: Windows 11 64-bit, i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600, 8 GB RAM, GTX 1050 Ti or RX 570, DirectX 12. The system requirements page explains what each tier means.
How big is the download?
The store lists 500 MB of storage. Replays and saves can add to that over time.
Is there cloud save?
The developer's feature list mentions cloud save support. Steam Cloud is listed on the store page.
Does it support ultrawide or high refresh rates?
Not confirmed. The store page lists camera comfort and volume options, but not a resolution or frame-rate guarantee.
Community and support
Is there an official Discord?
Yes. The official temkosoft server has about 15,000 members. The invite and channel guide are on the Discord page.
Where do I report a bug?
The Steam forum and the Discord are the two official channels. Include the build number, mode, server region, and a clip if possible.
Is the game pay-to-win?
There is no announced cash shop or gameplay-boosting DLC. The price is upfront and the feature list is cosmetic and progression-based.
Is it a sequel or a remake?
No. It is a standalone arcade volleyball game by temkosoft.
